OMG 2, a movie starring Akshay Kumar, will be released on OTT after facing difficulties with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) who suggested 27 cuts. The movie will be available on the streaming platform from October 8. During an interview, the actor discussed the OTT release and responded to allegations that the board considered the film to be for adults only.

During a recent interview with a leading news portal, Akshay Kumar discussed the revisions recommended by the CBFC and said, “I don’t want to fight. I have no idea about the rules. I didn’t get into the rulebook. If they thought it was an adult film, then… did you all feel it is an adult film? Whoever we have shown the film to, they loved it. I made it for youngsters and I’m happy it is coming on OTT and I’m happy about it. That’s it. The important thing is that people should know about it.”

After weeks of speculation about whether the film would be given a U/A certificate, the film was ultimately given an A certificate by the CBFC, but only after 27 cuts were made.

Akshay gave an example of how the collective mindset needs to change. He shared his experience during the promotion of his 2018 movie, Padman. Akshay mentioned that he made a film about sanitary pads at a time when people were not comfortable holding or touching them. During an event where he was the chief guest, someone whispered to him not to offer them a pad because it didn’t look good. This kind of thinking needs to be changed.
