Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan finally gets a release date, to clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has undergone a prolonged production period of five years, facing consecutive delays from its initially anticipated 2020 release. The film, now slated for an Eid release in April 2024, has encountered setbacks annually, ranging from scheduling clashes to unforeseen circumstances. 

The film’s new release date will lead to a box office clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Ajay Devgn had previously announced the release date as February 17, 2023, in 2022 after multiple postponements. The teaser, unveiled the previous year, offered a glimpse into the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962, showcasing the team’s commendable qualification for the Olympics despite challenges like the lack of proper footwear. 

Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan narrates the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim, an unsung hero who brought glory to India.
