NEW DELHI: With a grand Ram temple to open on January 22, airlines are fast mounting capacity to Ayodhya from different cities. Air India Express will, from January 17, have daily flights from Bengaluru and Kolkata to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham which Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate on Saturday (December 30).
Regular flights will begin starting January 6 with IndiGo and Air India Express — both of which will be operating an inaugural flight each from Delhi on December 30 — so far announcing direct flights from Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
IndiGo regular flights from Delhi start January 6; from Ahmedabad January 11 and Mumbai Jan 15. AI Express daily Delhi-Ayodhya start January 16; Bengaluru and Kolkata from January 17.
Given the huge demand from across the world, and not just India, for a darshan of Shri Ram lalla at the soon to be inaugurated temple, airlines are expected to announce more flights to the holy city.
While announcing Bengaluru and Kolkata flights, AI Express chief commercial officer Ankur Garg said: “Our dedication to expanding connectivity throughout India remains steadfast, driven by our expanding fleet. The introduction of non-stop services connecting Ayodhya to Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata underscores this commitment. As pivotal hubs in our network, Bengaluru and Kolkata will serve as gateways to Ayodhya, providing pilgrims from South India and Eastern India with convenient one-stop itineraries.”
