12th Fail box office collection Day 9: Vikrant Massey starrer sees good growth on Second Saturday; records its highest collection since release | Hindi Movie News

It has been smooth sailing for the Vikrant Massey starrer ’12th Fail’ at the box office. The film entered its second weekend on a high, recording its highest collection till date.
On its 9th day at the ticket windows, the film earned an estimated Rs 3.42 crore across India in all languages. This was enough to beat the film’s first Sunday collection of Rs 3.12 crore which was its highest earnings since its release.
Good word of mouth has reportedly helped boost box office numbers this past. ’12th Fail’ made a promising start at the ticket windows with an opening day collection of Rs 1.1 crore. It went on to record a first week collection of Rs 13.04 crore.On its Second Friday, the film earned an estimated Rs 1.75 crore. On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the film recorded good occupancy of 29.47% for its night shows.
’12th Fail’, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, is a story of ambition, dedication and restarting. The film is based on Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel about the incredible journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi.

Massey, who plays the IRS officer, said he resonated with Sharma’s life story on many levels. He told PTI, “I come from a middle class family, some days when I look back in retrospect… We were probably a lower middle-class family… Maybe it was his struggle to support the family. I also did that at the age of 16, and no 16-year-old wants to go out and work for 12 hours a day when your friends are playing. I did that. One of the major reasons to be a part of ’12th Fail’ was probably I would get to share my own experiences through Manoj Sharma and my own worldview through this character.”

The film also features Medha Sharma, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sanjay Bishnoi and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
