The festival of colours Holi is here – while some parts of the country will celebrate today, some places will see the same being done tomorrow. Regardless, the playing of colours is always preceded by the Holika Dahan, a ceremonial burning of wood, symbolising the end of Holika and the victory of good over evil.

Actor Shilpa Shetty recently shared a video from her Holika Dahan celebrations where her entire family including husband Raj, kids Viaan, Samisha and mother Sunanda Shetty were seen partaking in the same. In the video, Shilpa is seen in a pink salwar suit as she prays in front of the holy fire, also taking a parikrama around it. She is joined by son Viaan in a white kurta pyjama with a blue jacket and daughter Samisha in a blue kurta and white pyjama.

Sharing the video, Shilpa wrote, “Holika Dahan. We make small chits, writing all our negative feelings, thoughts, and letting it go into the universe as love and light. This is a ritual we do every year on Holika dahan. This festival reminds us that with faith and devotion, God always protects you and you will always triumph over evil burning negativity to ashes and filling your life with colours of positivity & love. Shilpa will soon make her OTT debut with Indian Police Force, directed by Rohit Shetty. The series will see Sidharth Malhotra play the lead.
