The untimely demise of actor-writer-director Satish Kaushik has left Bollywood in shock. The 66-year-old passed away in Gurugram in the wee hours earlier today.

ETimes now has exclusive information that the actor’s mortal remains will be flown to Mumbai from Delhi via air ambulance at 3 pm. Some close friends and family members of Satish rushed to Delhi as soon as the news broke and made quick arrangements for the autopsy to be conducted and the mortal remains to be carried home as soon as possible. His friends and family are expected to land in Mumbai by 4 pm.

Satish Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi and daughter Vanshika, who is just 11-years-old. Both the mother and daughter are said to be in a state of shock.
There is no clarity yet as to when the funeral of the veteran actor will take place as it all depends on when his mortal remains reach his residence in Mumbai.

Satish Kaushik’s breakout role came in the form of the character Calendar in Shekhar Kapur’s Mr India. But even before that, he had already created an impact with films like Woh 7 Din, Mandi and Masoom. One of his most memorable performances came in Kundan Shah’s cult comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, a film that Kaushik co-wrote along with Shah, Sudhir Mishra and Ranjit Kapoor
