Exciting news for Retta!
On Tuesday (January 17), it was reported that NBC ordered a pilot for Murder by the Book starring the 52-year-old actress.
Retta will be reuniting with Good Girls creator Jenna Bans, who also behind the new drama series.

Murder by the Book will “follow big city Instafamous book reviewer (Retta) takes a page from the murder mystery books she reviews and becomes an unlikely detective to uncover the shocking truths about an eccentric seaside town,” according to Deadline.
After the news was announced, Retta took to Instagram to celebrate.
“‘It’s giving “extra extra read all about.’ The pilot got the green light and I couldn’t be more thrilled. #MurderByTheBook #MBTB,” Retta wrote.
Retta is best known for her roles of Donna Meagle on Parks and Recreation and Ruby Hill on Good Girls, which both also aired on NBC.
In a recent interview, Retta spilled some tea about Good Girls‘ cancellation.
