Bengaluru: Ola has laid off around 200 employees across its group companies including Ola Cabs, Ola Electric and Ola Financial Services. But the company also said that it will continue to hire in engineering and design including senior talent in “key priority areas”.
“We regularly conduct restructuring exercises to improve efficiencies, and there are roles which are now redundant,” Ola said in a statement. In 2022, Ola had said that it planned to lay off around 1,000 employees. Earlier this week, Ola shut its neo-banking firm Avail Finance, which it acquired in March 2022.
