Martin Short Gave Up Plane Seat For Chance the Rapper

[ad_1]

In the latest random act of kindness among celebrities, Chance the Rapper shared the unlikely run-in he and his 7-year-old daughter, Kensli, recently had with Martin Short on an airplane. According to the rapper, a kind stranger gave up their seat on Chance’s flight after the musician realized he and his daughter weren’t seated together. It wasn’t until after their interaction that Chance realized the “kind older gentleman” who offered up his seat was the “Only Murders in the Building” star!

“So I just got on this plane with my daughter, and found out our seats weren’t next to each other. I really ain’t wanna inconvenience anyone by asking them to swap seats, but before I could say anything this kind older gentleman offered his seat to Kensli so we could sit together,” Chance explained on Twitter on Feb. 26. “We both said thank you and as he stands up, I realize it’s THE Martin Short!!”

The rapper said their chance encounter (pun intended) was “so cool” and his daughter “freaked out cause she’s obsessed with ‘The Santa Clause 3.'” “What an awesome person!” he added in his tweet. “SHOUTOUT TO JACK FROST.”

When a fan asked Chance if the actor realized who the rapper was, he replied, “Definitely not, which made it way cooler. He just a nice dude ig.”

It seems Chance’s run-in with Short happened just before the 2023 SAG Awards aired. The actor opened the awards show with a funny friendship-ending skit with his “Only Murders in the Building” costars Selena Gomez and Steve Martin. The award-winning trio are currently filming the third season of their Hulu series, which has another star-studded cast that features folks like Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, and Ashley Park.

Meanwhile, Chance recently teased a concert to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his classic “Acid Rap” mixtape. “Who wants a show[?]” he asked his fans on Instagram on Feb. 1. A few days later, on Feb. 6, he shared an adorable video of him playing around with Kensli and his 3-year-old daughter, Marli, with all three singing the silly “Shabooya” roll-call song together.
