Cbi: Land-for-job case: CBI summons Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav | India News

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned Bihar deputy chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday in connection with the land-for-job case, a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided his Delhi house. This is the second summon issued to him, the first being issued on February 4, said a CBI official.
The ED on Friday also conducted searches at the houses of some RJD leaders in multiple cities of Bihar in connection with the land-for-jobs case.
Earlier, the CBI had grilled Yadav’s parents and former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Former railway minister Lalu Prasad was questioned for nearly five hours in two sessions on Tuesday, while his wife Rabri Devi was grilled at her Patna residence a day earlier.
The case pertains to Lalu Prasad and some of his family members allegedly receiving plots of land as bribes for jobs in Indian Railways between 2004 and 2009 when he was the railway minister.
The CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the case against Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and 14 others under charges of criminal conspiracy and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, following which a Delhi court had last month issued summons to them for appearance before it on March 15.
So far, three people — Bhola Yadav, then officer on special duty to Lalu Prasad, and alleged beneficiaries Hridayanand Chaudhary and Dharmendra Rai — have been arrested in connection with the case.
