The first look at the new Broadway musical Bad Cinderella has been released ahead of tonight’s first preview performance!
Linedy Genao is taking on the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s new musical, which will play at the Imperial Theatre in New York City.
The new version of Cinderella premiered on London’s West End in 2021 and it features a book by Academy Award winner Emerald Fennell and lyrics by Tony winner David Zippel, in addition to music by Lloyd Webber.

Here is the synopsis: “This modern retelling of the classic fairytale is set in the exceptionally beautiful kingdom of Belleville. Our Cinderella is no longer the damsel in distress who needs saving. She finds herself and her prince in new circumstances which cause them to rethink what ‘happily ever after’ really means.”
Also starring in the musical are Carolee Carmello as the Machiavellian Stepmother, Grace McLean as the ever-exacting Queen, Jordan Dobson as the heir-do-well Sebastian, Sami Gayle as the ditzy step-sister Adele, Morgan Higgins as the husband-hungry step-sister Marie, and Christina Acosta Robinson as the all-seeing Godmother.
The official opening night performance will take place on March 23.
